Iran's General Staff of Armed Forces warns against EP blacklisting IRGC
Tehran, IRNA – General Staff of the Armed Forces issued a statement on Thursday warning against the consequences of a resolution by the European Parliament putting the IRGC on its blacklist.
The statement said that the EP's measure followed the hostile policies of “the US terrorist regime and the fake Zionist government” after failing to succeed in their project of injecting unrest and insecurity into Iran.
It said that they have blacklisted the IRGC which both the friends and enemies say that has annihilated the biggest terrorist group in the region (Daesh) so as to demonstrate their double standards to the world.
The statement strongly condemned this unwise decision which it said to contradict the most basic international rules and laws, adding that the European Parliament resolution will affect regional and international peace and security.
It added that the Iranian armed forces, the IRGC in particular, will not retreat from defending Iran’s security and the country’s national interests and the continued fight against terrorists raised by the US, Britain, and the Zionist regime, noting that the hostile governments will find out in the near future that they have made another miscalculation.
