Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President's Special Envoy for Afghanistan's affairs, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, said that 20-year presence of the United States in Afghanistan has not resulted in anything but creating terror, fear and despair.

In an interview with Al-Alam News Network, Kazemi Qomi, said that during these 20 years, the Americans not only did not take any action, but also destroyed the basic infrastructure of Afghanistan, therefore, after the Taliban came, they faced the phenomena of insecurity, economic and livelihood crisis, and the problem of ISIS.

Iran’s ambassador in Kabul in his interview added that the Americans actually created a psychological operation against the new atmosphere in Afghanistan, and this attack that people brought to the planes to leave the country was the result of the same propaganda and they wanted to say that there is no security now that there is no America.

Kazemi Qomi added: The second problem was that there were some people who participated in the government during the time of the occupation. There were those who felt threatened by the Taliban - new forces - who took over Kabul, because these are the ones who cooperated with the Americans and were against the jihadist forces.

Iranian President's Special Envoy for Afghanistan's affairs in his interview with Al-Alam News Network added that the Americans were worried that they would have problems with the arrival of the Taliban, but the most important issue was the first discussion, that is, creating a psychological atmosphere.

He continued by saying that the Americans wanted to induce that when they leave, there would be no more security and it could be replaced by violence, and while the Americans could not leave Afghanistan by surprise and had agreed that, for example, the Taliban would come to the gates of Kabul and follow the Afghan talks there for two weeks in an atmosphere of interaction, but the Americans preferred to leave Afghanistan and make that kind of move.
