Iran sends first humanitarian cargo to Syria after quake
Tehran, IRNA – the Islamic Republic of Iran has sent its first humanitarian cargo for quake-hit people in Syria.
An Iranian civilian plane carrying aid for Syrians affected by earthquake arrived in Damascus Airport in the capital of Syria early on Tuesday, according to a report by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The 45-ton humanitarian cargo was comprised of essential supplies like food, medicine and hygiene items, said the report.
Iran had announced its readiness to provide relief to people affected by two huge earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria on Monday.
Two strong earthquakes claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people and injured over 16,000 more.
