Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili said that his country will welcome the expansion of cultural ties between Iran and the UAE.
The minister made the statement during his visit to the UAE pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday, Iran Daily reported.
He also discussed expansion of cultural cooperation with Emirati Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi.
Al Hashimi, who is also the managing director of the expo, officially invited Iran’s President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi to visit the expo on February 7.
During the meeting, Al Hashimi also voiced her readiness to develop cultural ties between the two countries and said, “I hope to travel to Iran soon to develop cultural exchanges at its highest level.”
The minister has already visited the pavilions of Japan, India and Russia.
The largest political, economic, social and cultural event in the world hosts 192 countries.
According to organizers, the expo, an exhibition of culture, technology and architecture under the banner “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future,” is expected to be a demonstration of ingenuity, and a place where global challenges such as climate change, conflict and economic growth can be addressed.
The expo started on October 1, 2021, and will run through March 31, 2022.
