Rouhani Chief of Staff denies acceptance of Zarif’s resignation

Iranian president's chief of staff, Mahmoud Vaezi has strongly denied media reports claiming that the country's President, Hassan Rouhani accepted the resignation of Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif.

"Reports claiming that President Rouhani has accepted Mr. Zarif's resignation are categorically refuted," Vaezi wrote on Twitter late on Monday.

Zarif announced on Monday in his Instagram page that he was leaving his post and apologized for his “inability to continue the service”.
