Salehi’s Comments in Saudi Arabia Are Not Acceptable to Members of Parliament
- Mr. Salehi's comments in Saudi Arabia are not acceptable to members of Majlis. The reason is that, during recent months, Saudi Arabia has committed a lot of oppression. Therefore, one should say that Majlis representatives' protests in this context are more or less relevant.
- Today, Saudi Arabia takes the worst decisions and policies against the Islamic world and Iran. This country has formulated the worst policies in Bahrain and Syria.
- Bearing in mind Mr. Salehi's mentality and behavior, he probably wants to attract the Saudis. However, the reality in the world of politics and international relations is that if Saudis wanted to act properly, they could have done so by now. They not only continue to act improperly, but our concessions will also embolden them to arrogantly seek more from us.
- Therefore, I was also not happy with these comments because it should really be said that taking into consideration Saudi's general policies and its current measures to exclude Syria from the OIC, we are against such policies and hence, these comments cannot be considered appropriate.
- Salehi's comments were made today and we (in the parliament) were not in a position to discuss this issue. Majlis is on holiday. It is unlikely that Salehi will be summoned by the Majlis. However, if Majlis was in session, he would have probably been summoned.
- Ahmadinejad's presence in Saudi Arabia creates no problem because he is attending the OIC meeting. We should make good use of this meeting.
- Ahmadinejad's presence at the Mecca summit despite the fact that an earthquake has taken place in Iran is fine because other officials are in the country. Sometimes one wants to show off and sometimes one wants to actually do something.
- If in the OIC meeting Ahmadinejad repeats the just words of the Syrian and Bahraini people and those of other countries against Zionism, and makes the Saudi officials understand these words telling them that their deeds are not supported by Muslim nations, such a presence in the meeting is very worthwhile, because the others do not dare talk about these issues.
- Therefore, it is important that nations understand that, with its presence in these meetings, Iran wants to present legitimate points nations seek.
