‘Iran keen to expand ties with Switzerland’

The chairman of Iran-Switzerland parliamentary friendship group voiced Tehran’s readiness to cooperate with the Swiss National Council Assembly to expand bilateral ties.

Abbas-Ali Mansouri Arani made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Swiss National Council Assembly in Tehran on Monday.

Referring to the good relationship between the two countries, he said regular consultation between the two countries’ parliamentary officials is a good way to facilitate development of relations.

He went on to say that regarding the scientific status of Switzerland and Iran’s scientific, technological and industrial advances, there is a great potential to enhance ties.

The six-member Swiss parliamentary delegation, chaired by Luzi Stamm, arrived in Tehran on April 16.

During a meeting with Iranian Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Sunday, Stamm said that imposing sanctions against Iran was a wrong policy.
