Tehran’s Daily Newspaper Review
President of Syria Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Tehran, and his meeting with the Iranian president and Supreme Leader were the top headlines in Tehran’s dailies today. Interestingly, however, Ahmadinejad’s talks with Assad received low-key coverage in the newspapers. Purposeful subsidies and the price of gasoline, recent developments in the chaotic markets of gold and foreign exchanges, and nuclear spies were other headlines on the front pages of Iranian newspapers. Tomorrow, Monday 11th of Mehr, is the anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Sixth Shi’a Imam, Ja’far ibn-i Muhammad, and Iranian newspapers will not publish.
