Iran’s Deputy Security Chief Rejects Report on Endorsing Secret Deal with IAEA

(FNA)- Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Undersecretary for Strategic Affairs Ali Hosseini Tash rejected media reports alleging that he had inked a secret agreement with an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) deputy chief.

"There is no agreement singed by the SNSC undersecretary for strategic affairs and the IAEA," Hosseini Tash said on Saturday.

He reminded such an issue is basically not within the framework the SNSC secretariat's responsibilities.

His remarks came after the AP alleged in a report that Hosseini Tash was a signatory to the agreement between Iran and the IAEA.

The AP also claimed that it has attained the text of Iran and the IAEA secret agreement, adding that Iranian experts will help the IAEA experts in inspection of the country's nuclear sites.

But Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi on Saturday categorically dismissed the Associated Press's news report about the inspection of Iran's nuclear centers.

"It is not right as AP reported that Iranian experts instead of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) staff will inspect the country's nuclear sites," Kamalvandi, also AEOI deputy chief, told reporters.

He reiterated that the IAEA had remained committed to keeping Iran's documents confidential so far, and said, "Iran’s considerations have been fully addressed within the framework of Tehran-IAEA cooperation."
