Armenia Seeks End of War in Yemen
(FNA)- Armenian Ambassador to Tehran Artashes Tumanyan underlined his country's serious demand for the end of the Saudi-led war on Yemen and establishment of peace in the Arab country.
"We want establishment of peace in Yemen, and don’t favor war at all and don’t want it," Tumanyan told FNA on Saturday.
He also blasted certain countries' support for the terrorists and extremists in the region, and said, "Certain states are making use of specific formations (terrorists groups) to boost their power and ambitions, while these organizations that they have formed could backfire on those states and their ruling system like a boomerang."
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for the last 80 days and has created, equipped and backed up Al-Qaeda, ISIL and other extremist and terrorist groups in the last few years to defeat the popular Ansarullah movement.
Saudi officials have declared restoring power to Yemen's fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, as their main objective in their direct war in the last 80 days.
The clashes between the Ansarullah fighters and the Saudi-backed al-Qaeda terrorists as well as the pro-Hadi militias continue in the Southern parts of the country now.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
The Monarchy's attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 4,561 civilians, mostly women and children.
Senior Iraqi and Syrian officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in the region.
The terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda and the ISIL, have links with the Saudi intelligence and are believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime as well.
