Ravanchi: Iran Endeavoring to Establish Peace, Stability in Region
(FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi in a meeting with his German counterpart Markus Ederer in Tehran on Saturday elaborated on Iran's efforts to boost security and stability in the region.
"Iran aims to spread peace and establish stability in the region through talks and peaceful means," Takht Ravanchi said, adding that expansion of relations between Tehran and Berlin can lead to the promotion of regional stability and improvement of security in the region.
He underlined good and proper relations between the two countries, and described Tehran-Berlin political consultations as useful and necessary.
Ederer, for his part, stressed the necessity for political, economic and cultural exchanges, and viewed Iran's positive role in the development of peace and stability in the region as highly important.
"Germany also seeks settlement of the regional issues with emphasis laid on the application of methods which settle the differences peacefully," he added.
During the meeting, the two sides conferred on the latest developments in bilateral relations as well as the nuclear talks between Tehran and the world powers, including Germany.
Also in a similar meeting in Tehran on Wednesday with Ederer, another Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian hailed Germany's stance on military operations in Yemen, and said, "We expect Germany and other European countries to take the necessary measures to stop the attacks against the Yemeni people and the Arab country's infrastructures …"
Ederer, for his part, reiterated that Iran played an important role in regional developments, and said, "Iran's constructive role in Iraq's developments and fight against terrorism as wells as establishment of political stability in that country is very valuable."
