Iraqi Parliament Speaker to Visit Iran
(Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iraqi parliament plans to pay a visit to Tehran this month to expand parliamentary ties between the two neighboring countries, an Iraqi adviser announced.
Salim al-Jabouri will visit Iran on December 22 to meet with the Iranian officials and explore avenues for expanding bilateral ties, Al-Masalah news website quoted Wahdah al-Jamili, an adviser to al-Jabouri, as saying.
Jamili announced that the Iraqi parliament speaker will also pay a visit to Turkey after Tehran to discuss bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ankara.
“In these visits, Al-Jabouri will discuss ways to stop regional interventions in Iraq and ask Iran and Turkey to help Baghdad end crises in the country,” Jamili explained.
Iraq has been the scene of clashes between military forces and the ISIL terrorists since the foreign-backed militants attacked the Arab country from Syria in summer.
The Takfiri terrorists have been committing heinous crimes in the areas they have taken, including the mass execution of civilians as well as Iraqi army troops and officers.
