Turkey Confining 258 Kobani Citizens at Border
(FNA)- Turkish military forces have jailed 258 citizens of the Syrian city of Kobani, also known as Ayn al-Arab, in a bordering village, a journalist revealed on Tuesday.
Mostafa Bali, a journalist from Kobani who is himself among the jailed people, told FNA today that they have been detained for illegal entry into Turkish territories.
"It is almost 9 days that the Turkish army has confined us in Pirous village's stadium and doesn’t allow anyone to come out," he added.
Noting that 31 women and several children are among the detained people, Bali revealed that the detainees are insulted and beaten and have been ordered to remain in the stadium or go back to Kobani.
He called for the rapid reaction of the regional states and human rights organizations to save the 258 people, warning that they are "living in critical conditions without the basic goods and services".
Kobani, Syria's largest Kurdish city, has seen intense battles over the past three weeks as ISIL terrorists are trying to seize the city due to its strategic location.
Turkey closed the border with Syria on Sunday leaving thousands of people who had fled Kobani stranded in a minefield in no-man's-land on the border.
Thousands of people in Britain, France and Turkey have been protesting against the slaughter of innocent people in the Syrian-Kurdish town of Kobani by the ISIL terrorists, showing anger at the UN and Turkey's inaction and blocking of aid to the people of Kobani.
At least 37 people have been killed and hundreds of others wounded in demonstrations held by pro-Kurdish protesters across Turkey over Kobani.
The protesters say that the Turkish government has done nothing to halt the advance of the terrorist group on the Syrian border town of Kobani, which has become a scene of fierce street battles between Kurdish groups and ISIL Takfiri terrorists.
