(FNA)- Iran Khodro Industrial Group will soon export 10,000 cars to the Russian Federation, aiming at market share development.

"We can manage the balance between our export and import, should we sell one third of our cars in global markets," Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO) CEO and President Hashem Yekehzare said, emphasizing his company's strategy for increasing its global market share.

Yekehzare also added, "In order to be present and compete in global markets and export products to other countries, we should consider the diversity and high quality of products, required specifications of target markets, suitable after-sales services in target markets and we also need to meet international standards' requirements".

"Meeting Russian standards is the first step to enter this market", he said, and added, "But what is important is to provide suitable after-sales services to our customers in this market."

According to the IKCO CEO, Iran's car making industry stagnated after some years of booming, however, during the past months it has been shifting gears.

Referring to the achievements in the past months, Yekehzare said, "We are no more concerned about production volume; what matters now is the quality and diversity of our cars, on which we are working now."

"Our production has tripled compared to the previous year," said Yekehzare, and concluded, "We have scheduled to present 10 new cars in three years; three or four of these cars would carry IKCO brand."
