(FNA)- The Iranian Foreign Ministry rejected recent media claims about the dispatch of Iranian Task Forces to the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The informed source at the Iranian foreign ministry underscored that Iran has no plan to dispatch military forces to Iraq.

As-Sharq Al-Awsat Newspaper, quoting a senior security source from Iraqi Kirkuk province, had claimed that 200 Iranian military Task Forces have entered the province through assistance of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) under the leadership of Jalal Talibani.

Last month, Iranian officials warned the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) against seceding from Iraq, warning that Iraq's disintegration is a plot hatched by the colonial powers.

"Disintegration will inflict harm on Iraq and the country's Kurds both," Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani said.
