Iran Urges OIC to Help Stop Massacre of Palestinians
(Tasnim) – Iran called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to utilize the Islamic countries’ capacities to pile up pressure on Israel in order to end the killing of innocent people in Gaza.
In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad and Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
Zarif urged the OIC to take an immediate and serious measure to use the great potentials of Muslim states to stop the Israeli onslaught on the besieged Gaza.
“Any ceasefire should include a lifting of the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and guarantee that Zionists will not repeat their aggressions,” he stated.
The Iranian foreign minister described the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Gaza as a high priority, saying that the Iran is fully prepared to send humanitarian aid supplies to the region and treat the Palestinians injured in the Israeli attacks.
He also called for joint efforts by OIC, the Arab League and Egypt to facilitate and expedite the process of helping the people of Gaza.
During the phone call, Madani emphasized that the OIC is ready to continue consultations with influential Muslim countries and make efforts to stop the Israeli regime’s atrocities.
The conversation came as Health ministry officials in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from 20 days of Israeli onslaught on the blockaded territory has reached nearly 1,150 with some 6,000 others reported injured.
