Iran, Turkey sign border security agreement
Orumiyeh, July 10, IRNA – Provincial officials from Iran and Turkey border areas signed a border security agreement on Thursday.
Iranian Governor of Chaldoran region Karim Hosseinzadeh heading the Iranian delegation and Turkish governor of Agri province Mohammad Takin Arsalan signed the agreement on the sidelines of a joint periodic security commission.
The periodic security commission of Iran and Turkey border regions are held every four months either in Iran or Turkey in the presence of provincial officials from Iranˈs Chaldoran and Mako regions as well as the officials from Turkeyˈs Agri and Igdir provinces.
Head of Iranian delegation and its Turkish counterpart called the two countriesˈ borders secured and stressed boost of cooperation in to increase border security.
The two officials called for enhancing level of border trade.
