Iran will come hard on terrorists if it feels slightest threat
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri has said that Iran will respond seriously to terrorist groups and their supporters, if they take the slightest action against Iran.
He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam news network aired on Saturday.
Definitely, Iran will not let terrorists get close to its borders, he stated.
The general said that presence of terrorists in Iraq is a “comprehensive plan” orchestrated by the U.S. and its allies.
Militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant have captured several areas in northern and western Iraq over the past two weeks, and are threatening to dismember Iraq and unleash all-out sectarian warfare with no regard for national borders.
The ISIL militants have vowed to continue their military offensive until they reach Baghdad, but Iraqi forces and around 1.5 million volunteers have succeeded in halting the terrorists’ advance and pushing the militants back in some areas.
Jazayeri went on to say that the major policy of the U.S. and its allies is to create a new Middle East.
They make every effort in line with their policies in the Mideast region, he added.
Commenting on the claim by the U.S. that it supports the Iraqi government in countering ISIL, he said terrorism in the region is led by the U.S. and such remarks are deceptive.
He said it is necessary to know about the U.S. moves in the region to know how such terrorist groups are formed and supported.
Such proxy wars are controlled by the White House, Jazayeri noted.
He added that Saudi Arabia is a regional element of such proxy wars.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that the Iraqi government and people are able to resist against terrorist actions.
He went on to say that if the Iraqi people and government need help in the current sensitive situation, Iran will definitely help them.
Commenting on Iran’s red lines regarding terrorists’ moves in the region, Jazayeri stated that Iran will not let foreign countries and their affiliated terrorists rule over Iraq and Syria.
The general predicted that terrorism will engulf countries that support extremist groups.
