(FNA)- Head of Iran's interests section in Cairo Mojtaba Amani is due to represent the Iranian government in the swearing-in ceremony of Egyptian President-Elect Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, informed sources revealed on Saturday.

"Mr. Mojtaba Amani, who heads Iran's interests section in Cairo, will represent both Iran and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Al-Sisi's swearing-in ceremony," the source told FNA on Saturday.

Iran holds the rotating presidency of the NAM.

Al-Sisi sent an invitation letter to Iran on Tuesday to invite President Hassan Rouhani to his inauguration ceremony.

The invitation was submitted by Head of Egypt's Interests Section in Tehran Khalid al-Said Ibrahim Amari to President Rouhani's Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian on Tuesday.

Earlier today, Egypt’s Presidential Spokesman Ehab Badawi confirmed FNA's Tuesday report that Cairo has invited the Iranian President to Al-Sis's inaugural ceremony.

The clear winner of the presidential election, Al-Sisi, is expected to take the oath of office before the High Constitutional Court to become the ninth president of Egypt next weekend.
