Good neighborly ties among Persian Gulf states guarantee regional security

IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that security of the Persian Gulf is bound to the good neighborly and healthy relations among the regional countries.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.

The Supreme Leader said that the Persian Gulf and its security were two very significant issues.

He stressed that Iran, as always before, is pursuing healthy ties with its Persian Gulf neighbors.

The Leader further noted that proximity and good relations among countries will benefit the whole region while animosity will only please their common enemies.

He said that the Israeli occupying regime dares to do shameless behavior due to the absence of good relations among the regional countries and that Iran has always been dealing with regional countries with tolerance.

The Supreme leader said that expansion of ties between Kuwait and Iraq will be to the interests of all regional countries.

Turning to the situation in Syria, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran will endorse whatever the Syrian nation opts for in the democratic election.

The Supreme Leader touched upon the threat Takfiri groups are posing to the whole region and regretted that certain regional countries fail to recognize the danger they will have to confront in the future by financing the terrorists.

The Leader said that certain regional countries were encouraging crime and massacre in Syria by Takfiri groups by supporting them but they will eventually have to crush them.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that ground is prepared for further promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Kuwaiti Emir voiced his country’s readiness to open up a new chapter in mutual relations.

He said during his talks in Tehran, the two countries agreed to enhance level of economic and trade relations.
