Envoy Voices Satisfaction with Iran-Hamas Relations
(FNA)- Representative of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Hamas Movement in Tehran Khaled Al-Qadoumi voiced pleasure in the new era of Iran-Hamas relations.
"The relations between the two sides are now at a good stage," Al-Qadoumi told FNA on the sidelines of the 7th General Assembly Meeting of the Islamic World's Radios and Televisions Union in Tehran on Sunday.
He reiterated that Iran and Hamas have long-term and strategic relations.
Al-Qadoumi pointed to a recent meeting between Hamas Political Bureau Chief Khaled Mashaal and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Doha, and said, "The visit was held in an intimate atmosphere and had positive results."
Last month, Senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar voiced satisfaction in the close and strategic relations between the Palestinian resistance movement and Iran, and praised Tehran's unsparing efforts as a main cause of the recent agreement cut by Hamas and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Al-Zahar termed the relations of the Hamas Movement and Islamic Republic of Iran as strategic.
He further pointed out that Iran has never conditioned its support for Hamas Movement, which in turn has led to formation of appropriate relations between the two Palestinian parties.
The Hamas official added that the Islamic Ummah should follow a common strategy.
