Zarif and Brahimi discuss Syrian on phone
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and UN special representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi has discussed the most recent developments in Syria in a telephone conversation, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Monday.
They stressed the need to tackle the conflict in Syria through a political solution as the best option.
The two chief diplomats stressed that political solution is the best option to tackle the conflict in Syria.
Zarif praised the efforts made by Brahimi to help solve the Syrian crisis and considered his efforts as an effective contribution.
Syria is facing a three-year-old conflict between President Bashar al-Assad’s forces and anti-government rebel and terrorist groups that has killed more than 150,000 people and forced millions from their homes.
