(FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian lashed out at the enemies of the Islamic resistance movements and the axis of resistance in the Middle East for orchestrating the Syrian crisis.

"The Syrian crisis has been masterminded by the enemies of Islamic resistance and the resistance front," Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Head of the Board of Trustees of Lebanon's Muslim Ulemas Society in Tehran on Monday.

Explaining the Islamic awakening developments in the Middle East, Amir Abdollahian praised the Lebanese Muslim Ulemas' Society for forming a community of the Ulemas (religious leaders and jurisprudents) of the Levant with the purpose of confronting the heinous phenomenon of Takfirism in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah, for his part, underlined that the Syrian crisis is a plot hatched by the West and the Zionists against the resistance front, and urged Muslims to maintain their solidarity.

On Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, once again, underlined that the only way to end the 3-year-long bloodshed in Syria is persuading all sides to take part in comprehensive national dialogue.

Speaking at a meeting with Head of French Parliament (Senate) Finance Commission Phillipe Marini, the top Iranian parliamentarian said that, since the beginning of the crisis in Syria, Iran has insisted on political solution to stop the chaos and has welcomed determination of Syrian fate by people of that country.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Damascus says the West and its regional allies have been fuelling the unrest by providing militants with money and weapons.

According to some reports, over 140,000 people have been killed and millions of others have been displaced due to the turmoil in Syria.
