Iran ready to build refinery in Congo: Larijani
Iran is ready to build a refinery in the Republic of Congo, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani proposed in a meeting with the Congolese deputy parliament speaker in Brazzaville on Saturday.
Iran is ready to cooperate with Congo in oil and petrochemical industries which would help Congo to achieve progress in those industries, he said.
He added that the two countries can cooperate in mining industry and building bridges.
He also expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with Congo in medical sciences and establishment of Red Crescent.
He also said an expansion of parliamentary relations between the two countries would deepen bilateral relations.
The Congolese deputy parliament speaker, for his part, insisted on the need to expand bilateral relations.
He said that his country seeks to use Iran’s experiences in approving laws.
He also praised Iran’s active presence in exhibitions in Congo.
Larijani added that the two countries should cooperate in areas of diplomacy and technical and vocational training.
Both countries should cooperate to increase commercial ties, he added.
The Iranian parliamentary delegation, headed by Larijani, started a five-day tour to South Africa and Congo on March 4.
