Iran, Poland to strengthen ties
Iran and Poland are determined to boost their cooperation in diverse areas, their foreign ministers said Saturday.
Referring to the historic relations between the two countries, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif called for enhancement of political, cultural and economic relations, Xinhua reported.
There are many untapped capacities concerning the mutual relations, for instance in petrochemical and medical sectors, which could be explored, Zarif said during a joint press conference with the visiting Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
As Iran and Poland signed a memorandum of understanding on pharmaceutical and trade cooperation, Zarif said the two sides could cooperate to boost their cultural and educational cooperation as well, including exchange of university students.
Sikorski also called for boosting ties between the two countries, expressing optimism that Iran and European Union (EU) relations would improve quickly.
