Zarif confers with IAEA chief, calling for confidence-building measures by agency
IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that the UN nuclear agency needs to act so as to build confidence for further facilitation of cooperation with Iran.
In a meeting with IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano on the sidelines of a fresh round of talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany – known as P5+1 – on its nuclear program in Vienna, Zarif underlined Iran’s resolve to proceed with nuclear talks with the P5+1 to reach a permanent and comprehensive agreement about Iranian nuclear dispute.
The IAEA chief, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the six-step action plan Iran and the agency signed on November 11.
Amano also hailed the new round of talks held between Iran and the IAEA earlier this month.
