(FNA)- Head of Iran-Germany Joint Chamber of Commerce Daniel Bernbeck said preliminary steps are underway to pave the ground for the presence of German investors in Iran's lucrative market.

"Our expectation is that sanctions will be lifted in the first half of the 2014 and we have full readiness to make investment in Iran and cooperate with foreign investment companies," Bernbeck said.

He further added that Germany is seeking marketing and expansion of the further cooperation between Iran and German private sectors.

Bernbeck pointed out that top German companies including Siemens and Daimler have only taken 20 percent of Iranian market share and the remaining belongs for small and medium companies.

He added that Germany holds 86 chambers of commerce and 120 bureaus across the world, Iran's chamber of commerce among the 5 top ones.

Germany is an important trade partner of Iran. Berlin has long been ignoring the US-led sanctions against Iran.

Iran and Germany have tried to expand their bilateral relations in recent years through reciprocal visits by the two countries’ officials.
