(MNA) – The commander of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base has said that the enemies will not survive if they attack Iranian nuclear facilities.

“We promise that the enemies will not survive if an attack is launched against the country’s nuclear facilities,” Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili said in an interview with the Persian service of ISNA published on Friday.

He also said, “Our doctrine is defensive, so we will defend and give a firm response if a threat is carried out.”

In addition, Esmaeili said that the domestically designed long-range Bavar 373 (Belief 373) air defense system, which is in the process of production, will be used to defend the country’s nuclear sites and sensitive facilities.

Iran closely monitored offensive plans during U.S. minesweeping exercise

Commenting on the 12-day International Mine Countermeasures Exercise 2012 (IMCMEX 12), which the United States began conducting in the Persian Gulf on September 16 in cooperation with more than 30 countries, he said that Iran closely monitored and analyzed the offensive plans which were practiced during the maneuvers using advanced radar and surveillance systems.

“The analyses of these exercises and other activities of the enemies have compelled us to frequently modify our tactics,” he added.
