Iran will fly domestically-produced fighter jets
(MNA) – Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi announced on Tuesday that domestically-manufactured fighter jets will be flown by the end of the current Iranian calendar year which ends on March 20, 2013.
“God willing the Defense Ministry’s fighter jets will be operational by the end of the year,” Vahidi said in a ceremony marking the Defense Industry Day.
He also said the manufacturing of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) is “on the agenda”.
“We are also trying to use new submarines in the next year,” the defense chief added.
