Envoy: Iran, Turkey Play Important Role in Muslim World

(FNA)- Iranian Envoy to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour reiterated that Iran and Turkey play an important role in the Muslim world and should make efforts to consolidate solidarity among Islamic countries.

Addressing a group of cultural figures from Turkey, Hosseinpour said that enemies of Muslims do not favor unity of the Muslim World, hatching plots to sow discord among them.

He said that Iran and Turkey play major role in the Muslim World.

Hosseinpour said the two countries should try to strengthen solidarity of Muslim World and help restore peace and tranquility in the international community.

Iran and Turkey have in recent years increased their cooperation in all the various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture.

The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.

Iran and Turkey are determined to boost their trade exchanges to $30bln in the near future.
