Iran plays vital role in global interactions

IRNA – Head of National Glory Center of Russia Vladimir Yakunin said the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a constructive and vital role in global interactions.

The Russian official made the remark here Friday during a meeting with an Iranian delegation headed by Secretary General of the World Organization of Proximity among Religions Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri.

Yakunin said Iran has always been a forerunner in dialogues among religions and civilizations in the world.

Referring to Tehran-Moscow cordial cultural and political ties, he called for fostering mutual ties in all areas.

Ayatollah Taskhiri also held talks with the Leader of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill in Moscow.

The Iranian delegation is in Moscow to take part in the 8th round of talks between Islam and the Orthodox Church which focuses on the issue of "religion and the human rights".
