Mehr News Agency - The Iranian Army will stage a major drill in the near future, Army Commander Ahmadreza Pourdastan announced on Sunday.

Brigadier General Pourdastan said the war game will display part of the might and capabilities of the Army. He added that the latest achievements of the Army will also be unveiled.

Commenting on the upshots of Velayat-90 naval drill, he said that the exercise "proved the might and stamina of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces to the world."

Pointing to the animosity of the enemy toward Iran since the history of the Islamic Revolution, the commander said the "enemy simultaneously has soft war and hard war on its agenda."

On possible reaction of the Islamic Republic to military threats by Western countries, the top general said if they "ignite a war” Iran should naturally defend itself.

He also said the enemies at home are "more harmful than those who explicitly challenge us."
