Tehran – The Reformist newspaper, Etemaad Daily, has been re-banned from publishing by the Prosecutor General’s order, this after it restarted a new round of activity in mid-June 2010, the Day Press website reported.

Day Press has speculated that Etemaad’s Saturday interview with Ali-Akbar Javanfekr, Editor-in-Chief of the government’s official newspaper Iran Daily was the cause of the new ban.

Javanfekr had threatened Ahmadinejad's former intelligence minister and current Prosecutor General Mohseni Eje’i to keep quiet, because “people would find out about lots of things if the curtains were pulled aside,” i.e. confidential intelligence could be revealed.

The newspaper’s website had remained blocked even after its most recent publication period.
