Iran to destroy regional US bases, if attacked
The Parliamentary official also added that “if the U.S. makes a mistake, Tehran reserves the right to wipe out all U.S. military bases in the region.”
According to regional experts the statement was regarded as the most serious threat of retaliation in case Iran becomes a victim of foreign aggression.
Meanwhile another Iranian commentary in Tehran Times also claimed that “the United States planned its withdrawal from Afghanistan on to extend its occupation in Afghanistan.
In an article published written by Hossein Alayi it was further claimed that “By signing long-term strategic treaties with the country and providing military, tactical, and logistical assistance, the U.S. tries to normalize the continuation of its military presence. To realize this goal, the U.S. starts establishing numerous military bases in the target country.” It was also added that “in fact, the plan to reduce the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan is a prelude to the establishment of permanent military bases in the country and eventually for an attempt to control the military equations in the region for a much longer period of time.”
“The withdrawal of some U.S. troops from Afghanistan will do nothing for the poor Afghans because the occupation will continue…..The only ones who will benefit from this new policy are Barack Obama and the members of his Democratic Party, whose chances of winning the next U.S. presidential election will be improved”, claimed Hossein Alayi who is a university professor and military analyst based in Tehran.
Meanwhile Iranian FARS news agency quoted a senior Afghan analyst as saying that the U.S. was “responsible for the soaring hike in insecurities in Afghanistan”, adding that “these insecurities are stirred by Washington in a bid to encourage establishment of permanent military bases in the country within the framework of a security pact with Kabul.”
Fars New quoted Vahid Mojdeh as claiming that “They create fear and organize bigger blasts to pave the ground for the endorsement of a security pact so that people find a more flexible mind towards the pact.”
Mojdeh aksi raised the possibility that Black Water, a US security company, with its dark records in Iraq and Afghanistan has had a hand in the recent blasts and insecurities.
The comments by the Afghan analyst coincided with a recent statement by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei who called the “continued presence of the US military forces in Afghanistan as the main cause of insecurity in the war-torn country.” “Americans are after permanent bases in Afghanistan, which is a dangerous issue because as long the US troops are in Afghanistan, there would be no real security,” the Iranian Leader warned recently.
