Iran, Pakistan determined to fight terrorism, expand relations: TV
Xinhua -- Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said the Islamic Republic and Pakistan are determined to fight terrorism in the region and to expand their bilateral relations, the English language satellite Press TV reported on Saturday.
Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Farooq Hamid Naek in Tehran on Friday.
Larijani called for closer cooperation between the security centers of the two countries in the fight against terrorism in the region, said the report.
The Iranian official also lauded friendly relations between the two neighboring states and urged the expansion of bilateral parliamentary ties, according to Press TV.
For his part, the chairman of the senate of Pakistan said the two nations have the potential to raise the level of their mutual cooperation in all spheres, adding that Islamabad is keen to enhance relations with Tehran.
