Iran’s Larijani: Obama, an international villain

ISNA
-Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the US President Barack Obama is an international villain.

Larijani referred to recent remarks of Obama on Iran and said, "How dare Obama announce that he wants to help the Iranian nation? He should know that he is an international villain, he has never sided with Iranian nation."

"Today, the US is standing against Iranian nation, Obama should know that we do not want his messages, what we need is to be able to trust his words," Larijani said as addressing Iranians in the southern province of Fars on Saturday.

"Today Americans showed a behavior that they should be given an international villainy medal," Iranian Parliament Speaker continued.

Larijani said the US was seeking chicanery, "they sent two countries (Turkey and Brazil) for talks with Iran on nuclear issue, but then they changed their approach which showed they were only seeking chicanery."

"The measure sends the signal that the US must be dealt with vigilantly," Larijani said.

Iran, Turkey and Brazil signed a proposal called Tehran declaration on May 17, based on which Iran would send half of its uranium stockpile to Turkey to receive highly-enriched uranium at a later time.

The measure was shortly followed by the US-sponsored 4th round of Security Council sanction against Iran.

Larijani’s remarks came after Obama told the BBC’s Persian channel that the door for diplomacy with Tehran was still open over its nuclear issue.

"Our strong preference is to resolve these issues diplomatically. I think that’s in Iran’s interest. I think that is in the interest of the international community," Obama said.

Iran and the US broke off relations following victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979 and capture of Iranian embassy in Tehran by Iranian students.
