Iranians Stage Anti-Israel Rallies on Int’l Quds Day
The International Quds Day, an annual event opposing Israel’s occupation of the holy Quds, was initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinian nation and underscoring the importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.
Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan in Muslim countries around the world. The fasting people carrying placards chanted ’Down with the US’ and ’Down with Israel’ and other anti-Zionist slogans.
They voiced the Iranian nation’s readiness to defend the ideals of Palestine and remove “the cancerous tumor from the face of the world,” Farsnews added. People also protested at the silence of the international community and the so-called advocates of the human rights against the crimes committed in the occupied lands.
Addressing a large protest rally in the Iranian capital Tehran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said "The Zionists are groups of hypocrite racists who have been operating under the pretext of following Jewish principles," according to presstv. He added that Israel was fabricated by the West to promote their colonialist scheme through materialistic agenda in the new world.
The Iranian chief executive blasted the recent direct talks between Israel and Palestinian Authority officials on the Palestinian issue and said, "Only Palestinians could decide on their own lands not foreign powers.
" The Iranian president accused the Middle East moderators who have been engaged in direct talks with Israeli officials of being accomplice to the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. He further pointed out that Israel has been on decline over the popular resistance and global awakening against its aggressions and is on the brink of collapse despite the US financial and military backup to save it. Pakistan appreciates Iran’s help, support for floods victims
(IRNA) - Pakistan’s Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani expressed Friday his profound gratitude for the help and support extended by the Iranian government and people to the flood-stricken people of Paksitan
The Pakistani primier also appriciated personal appeals of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to mobilize Iranians for donations for those affected by the recent fatal floods in Pakistan.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najar who is on a visit to Pakistan along with a special representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The meeting was held at the prime minister’s Chamber in the National Assembly Secretariat.
The prime minister briefed the Iranian delegation on details of the damages and destructions caused by the floods.
He said that although his government has mobilized every possible resource at its disposal for the rescue, relief and immediate recovery efforts, no country regardless of how much developed it might be, could cope with such a huge challenge by itself.
Noting that Pakistan attached great importance to its traditionally cordial ties with Iran, Gilani said Islamabad was keen to extend the existing bilateral relations and cooperation in diverse fields, to the higher levels. More
