Iran, US not on same path: Speaker
Larijani made the remarks in the open session of Majlis today in response to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who had said she is ready to hold talks with Iran in Afghanistan.
Referring to the recent anti-Iran resolution, Larijani said it was hypocritical of the US to talk about any dialogue with Iran after the resolution.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has recently issued an anti-Iran resolution on which the US as well as some Western states reached agreement and imposed economic sanctions on the country afterwards.
Pointing to the aggressions against the Afghan people by the US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Larijani said Iran is against those offenses and not treading on the same path with the US; furthermore, Iran will not hold talks with the US.
These are the US tricky policies on the Islamic Republic of Iran with which should not be faced naively, the Iranian speaker noted.
