Turkey and Saudi Arabia’s Empty Hands in Syria

The situation in Syria, which was improving in recent days due to the victories of the army, popular forces and Syrian allies over the Takfiri terrorists, and the Munich Conference, is once again faced with the obstacles created by Turkey and Saudi Arabia; an illegitimate interference which would further complicate the already complex situation. The Saudi military maneuver in this country with puppet and multinational forces from other Arab countries which depend on Saudi oil money is just a show. After ten months of air strikes, Saudi Arabia is still not able to enter Yemen, which is a poor country with numerous domestic problems and a weak army. Although Turkey has military capabilities, its attacks against the Syrian Kurds near Aleppo have led to international reactions. Basically, neither of these two countries is able to enter Syria without the consent of the Syrian government. Furthermore, the Turkish government has always had issues with the Kurds and they cannot suppress the opposition without considering the problems of the Kurds of Turkey and Syria. Nonetheless, this is not the conspiracy of yesterday and today. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar pursue proxy wars and each day they design new plans, but after a while they are defeated.

Today, when Erdogan has built a palace with 1100 rooms and held lush opening celebrations, when he pursues neo-Ottomanism and kills or imprisons his opponents, when he creates problems in the region and intends to sell gas to Israel, the new map drawn for the Middle East can better be understood. It is a pity that Assad did not react properly to the demonstrations launched by the Muslim Brotherhood.

But this mistake made by the Syrian President should not be responded to by leaving him and his country to the hands of the enemies of Islam, the Resistance and the region and barbaric terrorists. Nonetheless, the Syrian forces and this country’s allies have a proper situation in their control of the different regions of Syria and the dispatch of Turkish or Saudi forces inside Syria will lead to their death.

It seems that the inexperienced measures taken by the young Saudi rulers will, once again, fail. The successful diplomacy of Dr. Rouhani and Dr. Zarif and the sacrifices made by the defenders of the holy shrine in Damascus have made foreign countries realize Iran’s role in the region. Now that there is an international consensus about Assad remaining in power during the transitional period and his presence in the election or his decision to leave power after the stabilization of Syria, the Saudis and countries affiliated to their oil money cannot fight against it. Saudi Arabia, which is entrapped in the quagmire of Yemen and which beheads 45 of its unarmed critics due to the internal differences between the ruling government, is, in no way, capable of being involved in another war. Today, when the price of oil has reached 30 dollars, Saudi Arabia will not be able to pay for the huge costs of its military attacks.

Despite their possible dissatisfaction of Assad, the people of Syria will never accept their country to be the haven for ISIS terrorists or other forces which are dispatched by Saudi Arabia and Turkey on behalf of the western countries. The Saudis have already set a pre-condition that if the US sends its ground forces to Syria, they will do the same! Of course, the US is not interested in sending its forces inside Syria to be killed by the army and the popular forces of Syria and its allies including Russia, Iran and Hezbollah. Russia has talked about the Third World War and the US and Europe know that the issues of Syria, Iraq and Libya are complex issues and a threat to their security.
