Arab Objective to Provoke Iran
Following its recent diplomatic failures in competition with Iran, Saudi Arabia has resorted to making provocations and baseless remarks including its support of the United Arab Emirates in its claim about the three islands, Abu Musa, the Greater and Lesser Tunbs, which belong to Iran. Such provocative remarks are similar to those of Davutoglu, Turkey’s Prime Minister, who said at the climax of Ankara’s diplomatic failures that he would provoke Azerbaijan against Iran to make territorial claims! Saudi Arabia and Turkey have both pursued similar approaches caused by their failure in foreign policy and even in competition with Iran. Tehran is well familiar with the political psychology of these behaviors and approaches and is aware of the reasons behind such negative and tense positions. In my book entitled “Righteousness of Iran’s Ownership and Governance over the Three Islands”, which has been published in Persian, English and Arabic, I have stressed on new and interesting documents about Iran’s governance over these three islands which are legally proven and the fact that the repeated claims of the UAE are all false and baseless. Even the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council is well aware of the false nature of these claims. The international community knows that these claims have been rejected in international tribunes and condemned by public opinion.
In my book, I have presented a letter which I have written to the US President when he had said that Iran and the UAE must negotiate about these islands. In this letter, I wrote that these islands have been returned to Iran through negotiations. After long negotiations, an official letter of understanding was signed between Iran and Sharjah under Britain’s supervision, before the establishment of the United Arab Emirates, and was registered in the United Nations. I wrote to the US President that one cannot negotiate over something which has been negotiated before! Thus, the UAE’s claims about these islands are eliminated from the literature of the US President and the political officials of Sharjah are no longer allowed to discuss this matter with the US officials. These baseless claims have, since many years ago, been rejected by the international community.
But one cannot ignore the war-seeking provocations of Saudi Arabia. Today, Saudi Arabia openly proposes these subjects because it has failed on the issue of Syria. In a geopolitical triangle comprised of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Zionist regime, these countries have all failed in their policies. The failure of Saudi Arabia and its allies regarding the issue of Syria is obvious in comparison with the triangle of Iran, Syria and Russia. Therefore, Saudi Arabia takes provocative measures in the complicated conditions of the region. It is clear that there is coordination between Ankara and Riyadh in their approaches towards Iran and countries of the region. These measures, which are due to the undiplomatic behavior of Saudi Arabia and other regional countries, cannot be ignored. These measures along with other provocations by Qatar and the UAE in the south of Iran and Persian Gulf shores, particularly the province of Sistan and Baluchistan, should be registered and documented in the Foreign Ministry as illegal measures and reported to the United Nations. The international community must be informed of the threats posed against Iran in the region so that other countries would collaborate with Iran to end the baseless claims of Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf littoral states.
