Nuclear Issue on the Right Path

-I look at the Geneva negotiations as a positive step forward. The important issue in nuclear negotiations is not the details and the experts have not yet entered into discussing them and are supposed to talk about them in the coming months.

-What has happened during the last 48 hours, which is historical in my opinion and will determine the fate of this issue, is that both sides, for the first time and after a decade, were able to show their good will and intend to solve the issue in a way which would satisfy both sides.

-Iran’s negotiating team was able to show the western party that Iran really intends to solve this problem so that the Western party’s demands will also somehow be provided and the western party also showed that it does not ask Iran to shut down its nuclear program.

-Therefore, I believe that both sides have reached the conclusion that the main problem in this issue is the existing mistrust between the two sides and it seems that for the first time and with great caution Iran intends to trust the West and the western party also intends to trust Iran.

-Of course, all those whose interests lie in their enmity with the West and the US, like the radicals inside the country or those who have geopolitical, strategic and economic interests like Russia and Turkey and some of the Persian Gulf littoral states and also the Zionists and the radical US Republicans are not happy with the developments in the Geneva negotiations; the reason is that they feel threatened by Iran’s nuclear issue being positioned on the right track.

-Of course, I am not saying that this issue is completely solved now because the task might be faced with a deadlock when the details are discussed.

-What I reiterate is that the western parties have told Iran in Geneva that they do not disagree in principle with 3 to 5 percent enrichment and this is Iran’s main and key demand for its enrichment program to be recognized.

-Iran, in exchange, has implicitly accepted that if 5% enrichment is officially accepted by the P5+1, Iran is ready to accept the additional protocol.

-Accepting the additional protocol means that Iran cannot practically perform any secret actions, for one of the main principles of the additional protocol is that the IAEA can inspect any place it wishes without giving any notice.

-I think that both sides agree with each other on the principles.

-Iran’s nuclear issue is on the right track towards resolution; unless the Israelis and the radical Republicans, on one hand, and Iran’s radicals on the other exert pressure to prevent it. Otherwise, I believe that Iran’s nuclear issue has found its right path.

-I reiterate again that the radicals on both sides can stop the general agreements that have been reached in Geneva.
