Commander: Iran Mass-Producing Newly Unveiled Sarir Drone

 (FNA)- Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli announced that Iran has started mass production of Sarir Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which was unveiled in military parades today.

The Iranian Air Defense Force displayed its Sarir (Throne) drones on the occasion of the National Army Day today.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Esmayeeli said Sarir is a long-range, long-endurance radar evading air defense drone.

"Sarir is capable of carrying cameras and air-to-air missiles and tens of this UAV have so far been produced and used," he added.

Iran's Air Defense Force also displayed its latest equipment and capabilities during the military parades on the occasion of the National Army Day on Thursday.

Senior Iranian officials, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as well as a host of top military commanders attended the ceremony.
