New domestically designed defense systems will be unveiled during the four-day joint air defense exercise of the Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), which will begin on Monday, the spokesperson for the maneuvers said on Sunday.

Brigadier General Shahrokh Shahram also said that during the war games, the IRGC Aerospace Force and IRGC fighter jets will act as the invading country and air defense units, the Air Force, the Army, and the Navy will act as the defending country.

He added that the country’s missile systems will be tested during the exercise.

The commander of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base said on Thursday that the air defense exercise, entitled the Defenders of the Sky of Velayat 4, will be conducted in eastern Iran in an area covering 850,000 square kilometers with the participation of 8000 Iranian military forces.

The maneuvers will be carried out to enhance combat capabilities of Iranian military forces and provide them with the opportunity to practice modern military tactics to counter new military threats against the country.
