Tehran’s Daily Newspaper Review

In his meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei provisionally rejected the outcome of Rafik Hariri’s Tribunal and implicitly warned against any threats to Iran’s security in the Persian Gulf. The new state of tariffs and prices after enforcement of the Purposeful Subsidies’ plan was also covered by all newspapers. Mohammad-Ali Ramin, Deputy Minister of Culture for Press Affairs, the strictest conservative in this position in years and said to be the architect of Ahmadinejad’s anti-Holocaust remarks, was dismissed from his post; definitely a relief for the debilitated reformist press.
