2 Saudi Soldiers Dead in Yemen’s Border Fighting
(FNA)- Two Saudi soldiers were killed in heavy fighting between the Ansarullah fighters and the Saudi border guards, a Yemeni source said.
According to a Yemeni source who asked to remain unnamed, heavy clashes broke out between the Ansarullah fighters and the Saudi border guards on late Friday night, in which two Saudi soldiers were left dead and two others injured.
Saudi Arabia’s Southwestern province of Najran was the epicenter of the clashes that lasted for hours.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 17 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed over 1010 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children. The attacks have also left more than 2200 people injured.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
Five Persian Gulf States -- Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait -- and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued on March 26.
