Iran, Yemen Discuss Bilateral Ties

(FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to Yemen Hossein Niknam and Yemeni Prime Minister Khalid Mahfuz Bahah in a meeting in Sana'a explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral ties.

During the meeting in the Yemeni capital on Friday night, Niknam and Bahah discussed ways to boost cooperation in political, economic and trade areas.

During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador vowed to do his best to broaden the Tehran-Sana relations during his mission to the Arab country.

Niknam expressed the hope that the Yemeni government would cooperate with him to fulfill his diplomatic duties.

The Yemeni prime minister, for his part, reiterated that the two sides should make use of the existing opportunities to expand their mutual cooperation.

Bahah underlined the role of the Iranian ambassador in reinvigorating bilateral relations and boosting constructive cooperation in all areas.

In December, Yemeni President Abd Rabuh Mansur Hadi in a meeting with Iranian Niknam underscored Tehran's major and important role in settling different problems in the region.

"Iran is a great country in the region," President Mansur Hadi said.

He underlined that Yemen and Iran can increase their mutual cooperation in a bid to resolve the regional problems.

The Yemeni president reiterated that Iran can play important role using its broad capacities and capabilities.

The Yemeni president, meantime, called on the Iranian companies to invest in Yemen's development projects.
