(FNA)- Iranian and Russian officials exchanged views over the latest developments in the region, including Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, and underlined that the only way out of the crises in the Middle East is focusing on diplomatic solutions.
In a meeting between Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Russian president’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Michael Bogdanov in Moscow on Tuesday, the two sides stressed that Iran and Russia have similar approach towards ending bloodshed in the region as soon as possible.
“Tehran and Moscow are seriously pursuing their strategic policy of supporting the Syrian and Iraqi governments against the ISIL,” said Amir Abdollahian in the meeting.
He said that Iran’s four-article plan to resolve the Syrian crisis and Moscow’s ideas for solving that crisis through diplomatic channels have shared standpoints.
On recent developments in Yemen, Abdollahian evaluated them in line with the interests of the entire internal and regional sides involved in that country and in case of Bahrain he said that national dialogue is the best solution.
“Iran considers the security of the Persian Gulf countries and the region as its own security and stability,” he added.
Amir Abdollahian arrived in Moscow on Monday to boost joint efforts with the country's strategic partner to find new ways for putting an immediate end to bloodsheds in various parts of the region.
