Iranian Commander: Israel’s Iron Dome No More Than Illusion
(FNA)- Israel's Iron Dome has proved to be nothing but an illusion, Commander of Iran's Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli stressed, adding that the Israeli army has been defeated in the war against the Palestinian groups' missile power.
"No country even with the highest level of technology can claim that it will remain unhurt by hostile air, sea and land strikes," Esmayeeli told reporters in Tehran on Sunday.
"Therefore, the Zionist regime's iron dome is an illusion," he added.
In relevant remarks in April, Advisor to Supreme Leader's representative at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Yadollah Javani underlined that the recent fiasco in Israel was embarrassed Israel and indicated the extent of its vulnerability.
"The recent failure of Iron Dome that Israelis took pride in embarrassed the Zionists since they cannot see any safe place for themselves in the occupied territories now," Javani told FNA.
He reiterated that the air defense missile systems should show their efficiency in practice, and the Iron Dome showed its inefficiency and failure.
Also in July, Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif said that All Israelis are within the range of the Palestinian resistance groups' missiles.
"The defense capacity and capabilities of the Islamic resistance and Hamas forces has left no safe place for the Zionists in the occupied territories," General Sharif said.
He pointed to the response given by Muslim and Palestinian warriors to Israel's savage attacks against the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza, and said, "The quality and trend of action of the Palestinian resistance movement in recent days indicates that the defensive and offensive power of Hamas, Ezzedin Al-Qassam and Quds brigades forces have increased so much that one can dare say that all Zionists are within the range of the resistance's missiles."
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 27 consecutive days, killing at least 1,740 people and injuring nearly 10,000 others.
According to the UN, 77% of the victims in Gaza are civilian and defenseless people.
