(FNA)- The Iranian parliament is due to send six lawmakers to Gaza in the coming days to study the recent developments in the region and the Zionist regime's crimes against the Palestinian people.

"A sum of 30 Iranian lawmakers had volunteered to visit Gaza and eventually six lawmakers were picked up to pay the visit," member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hassan Kamran said on Wednesday.

He noted that the main purpose for the Iranian parliamentary delegation's visit to Gaza is sympathizing with the victims' families and studying the problems of the injured people as well as supplying humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

On Tuesday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani condemned the Israeli brutal attacks on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and said Egypt has agreed to help Iran dispatch its humanitarian aid to Gaza.

"Today we received a message from Egypt at the end of the troika meeting declaring the Arab country's readiness to help Iran send humanitarian aid to Egypt," Larijani said on the sidelines of a troika meeting of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) in Tehran.

He noted that the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) will take practical measures to send medicine and foodstuff to Egypt and from there to the Gaza Strip via land.

The PUIC troika meeting was held in Tehran on Tuesday to discuss ways to stop the Israeli massacre of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 16 consecutive days, killing at least 670 people and injuring more than 4,000 others.
