Iran, Russia Confer on Situation in Gaza
(FNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a phone talk discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip amid the brutal Zionist attacks against the innocent Palestinians.
During the phone conversation on Friday, Rouhani and Putin called for an immediate halt in armed confrontation in Gaza region.
The two presidents also discussed Iran's nuclear negotiations as well as the situation in Iraq.
Rouhani and Putin also talked about mutual cooperation in the fields of joint plans in oil, gas and peaceful nuclear energy.
Also in another development, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in separate phone calls with Palestinian leaders condemned the Israeli attacks on the defenseless Gaza people, and discussed the latest situation there.
In separate phone calls Thursday to Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Movement Ramadan Abdullah and Head of Hamas Political Bureau Khalid Mashaal, Larijani voiced Iranian nation's full support for the oppressed Palestinian nation's righteous struggle for the liberation of their homeland.
Larijani also underlined the need for setting aside all differences of opinion among the Islamic countries and their solid support for the Palestinian nation.
Also on Thursday, Larijani in separate messages to Chairman of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Abdolvahed Razzi and its Secretary-General Martin Chungung called for an immediate end to the brutal Israeli attacks on the people in Gaza.
In his messages, Larijani warned that continuation of the brutal siege of Gaza would lead to human catastrophe in that region and threatens the regional peace and security.
He called on the OIC Parliamentary Union, the international community and other global organizations to take immediate actions to halt Tel Aviv brutal attacks on Gaza.
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 12 consecutive days, killing at least 322 people and injuring more than 2,270 others.
According to the UN, 77% of the victims in Gaza are civilian and defenseless people.
